Why choose a gas barbecue?

There are many reasons why buying a gas barbecue is one of the best options if you’re looking to invest in one. First and foremost, using a gas barbecue guarantees exceptional ease of use and maintenance. As outlined below, operating a gas barbecue is straightforward: simply connect the gas bottle to the barbecue, and it functions like a cooking plate. All that’s left is to turn the knobs to set the temperature.

As for maintenance, it's as easy as can be: a little water and baking soda, and you’re good to go!

Furthermore, with a gas barbecue and its various accessories (such as a griddle, side burner, etc.), it’s possible to easily cook a variety of foods: from meat to fish, vegetables, and even pizzas — the possibilities are endless!

A gas barbecue guarantees healthy and balanced cooking for the enjoyment of your guests.

Which gas barbecue to choose?

A gas barbecue operates like a stovetop. Depending on the model, it can be equipped with 2 to 6 burners, making it efficient for large gatherings. The burner ignition is instantaneous, and the flame intensity can be adjusted using the knobs to set your desired temperature.

The grates, the cooking basin, and the lid are other essential components of a gas barbecue. It's important to examine each of these in detail to make the best possible choice. These models offer several major advantages compared to charcoal or electric barbecues.

In terms of cooking, a gas barbecue allows for indirect cooking by placing food in a zone without a burner. Indirect cooking is ideal for larger cuts of meat or foods that require longer cooking times. Additionally, the lid on the gas barbecue enables oven-style cooking by trapping heat inside, ensuring even cooking.

Other factors to consider when choosing your gas barbecue:

Barbecue capacity

Capacity is an important factor to consider: the barbecue should be able to cater to both small and large gatherings. With a gas barbecue, which typically features a large cooking surface on most models, you can easily host the whole family for grilled meats and kebabs on a sunny sunday!

Moreover, with a gas barbecue, you can add extensions like a griddle or other accessories! For example, a griddle lets you cook multiple foods at once for better efficiency. This type of barbecue can also come with a side burner — great for keeping dishes warm!

The number of burners is also a key criterion: depending on how much food you need to cook, the necessary power will vary. If you're used to hosting large numbers of guests, choose a powerful gas barbecue with the appropriate number of burners.

Using a gas barbecue: tips, maintenance, and safety

Please note, before any handling, always make sure to disconnect the gas bottle to prevent any accidents.

To start, clean the barbecue grill. It’s recommended to clean it right after use when it’s still warm: heat the burners to eliminate grease on the grill, then wait for it to cool and clean and rinse it quickly. If there’s any leftover grease, use a miracle mix of water and baking soda, and scrub the grates vigorously!

For a gas barbecue, the burners also need to be cleaned. Use the same mixture mentioned above, water and baking soda or specialised cleaning products available in stores. Remove the burners and let them soak for two hours before scrubbing them with a sponge. For the cooking basin, wash the inside with a brush or sponge soaked in the baking soda mixture, though soapy water can also be used.

We’d like to remind you of some basic safety tips for using a gas barbecue to avoid accidents:

  • Install the gas barbecue in a sheltered area of the garden, away from tall grass or easily flammable vegetation.
  • Ensure that children and pets don’t get too close to the gas barbecue to avoid accidents or burns.
  • Handle the steel grates carefully and wear gloves if they’re hot.
  • Regularly maintain the gas burner system and check that the gas bottle is properly connected.
