Maintenance details

This game is coated with a tinted oil during its manufacture. The impregnation of the oil varies depending on the species of wood. A small residue may remain. Be sure to remove it with a cloth before using it for the first time. It is not necessary to oil your new garden item, you can wait until the end of summer. Acacia is a hardwood tree. Acacia is a living material. Therefore, its appearance changes over time, and some cracks appear. This is normal and is what gives hardwood its valuable authentic charm. Although robust and resistant to weather, acacia requires a bit of maintenance to prolong its life. Remove leaves, stagnant water, and dust daily. Wash stains and food residues with soapy water and a sponge. If your structure is very dirty, you can use a small hard brush. In spring and late summer, clean the floor with a stiff bristle brush. In spring and at the end of summer, thoroughly clean your garden furniture and let them dry. Once the woodwork is completely dry, apply a thin layer of oil. Be careful, make sure it does not rain within 24 hours of applying the oil. If your garden furniture is made of acacia wood, apply a thin layer of oil. If your acacia garden furniture has been exposed to a lot of rain, you may notice that the surface fibers have swelled slightly and that the whole feels rougher to the touch. To remedy this, sand the surface lightly with fine grit sandpaper until it is smooth again. Once you have finished sanding, apply a layer of oil to restore the original color of the garden furniture. The oil layer is what preserves garden furniture from stains and allows them to withstand pollution, weather, and mold. If you choose to let your acacia furniture age without applying oil twice a year, they will acquire a nice silvery color. However, they will no longer be protected.

Precautions

It is important to prepare your acacia garden furniture for winter. Store it sheltered from moisture in a cool, airy place. If you protect it with a cover, prefer polyester ones over PVC. Do not put your garden furniture in direct or intense heat. Do not expose them to the weather. Do not leave a damp sponge on the tabletop for too long, as it makes it rough to the touch.
