OUR ADVICE
Water is one of the most important commodities on Earth. Its increasing scarcity makes the use of products such as water butts essential. Instead of wasting water using a garden hose, collect rainwater. There are no real disadvantages to argue against having one. It will only serve to make your garden more functional and less expensive to maintain.
HOW DOES A WATER BUTT WORK?
When it rains, the rainwater falls in the gutter of your roof, but instead of running down your drain, water is diverted using a gutter connection and fills your water butt. When the butt is full, rainwater will revert to flowing down the drain. Our water butt can be adapted to fit 3 different sizes of round gutters.
THE ADVANTAGES OF A WATER BUTT
REDUCED COSTS
Plants require regular watering which results in expensive costs. A water butt is a free irrigation system and is an affordable, long-term investment guaranteed to reduce your water bills and water your pots & planters.
REDUCES WASTE
Using a garden hose or tap water to water your garden is incredibly wasteful. When you use a hose, it is impossible to gauge how much water has been used. Conserve water by washing your car or watering your plants with collected rainwater. Renowned for its wet weather, in the UK water butts will remain full almost year-round!
DURABILITY
Water butts are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions. They have thick walls, and their weight ensures stability. Our water butt is made from polyethylene. It is a weather-resistant, hard-wearing material known for its longevity. You will continue to use your water butt for decades to come and continue to appreciate the benefits of collecting rainwater.
GREAT FOR YOUR PLANTS
Greenhouses and elevated, wooden planters provide some of the best conditions for plant growth. Why not give your fruit and vegetables a better alternative to tap water. Although it is acceptable to use water from the mains supply, rainwater is kinder to plants because it’s not treated.
